Stantec is currently seeking a Lead Hydraulic Modeler for our office in Qatar.
The Hydraulic Modeler is responsible for performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and design, preparing hydrologic and hydraulic models, analyzing model results and preparing materials to present results to clients. The position assists in the development of scope of work for hydrologic and hydraulic assignments, specifically tasks related to wastewater collection systems and water systems.
Duties are:1) Providing state-of-the-art hydrologic/hydraulic modeling for wet weather and designs in projects. 2) Contributing towards developing and managing wet weather programs; reviewing or preparing modeling reports, conveyance, storage, and design; and preparation of hydrological/hydraulic models. 3) Completing tasks and assignments independently and reviewing the work of others as requested; maintaining high standards of quality and consistently presenting work in near-final form requiring minimal editing or supervision; and utilizing tools and techniques to improve efficiency and minimize non-productive work. 4) Recognizing and anticipating potential business or technical issues; identifying systemic issues that link parts of a problem with a broader set of issues or relationships; and identifying the root cause of the problem before exerting significant time or resources. 5) Organizing, drafting and coordinating production of assigned sections of various reports to ensure technical consistency and inclusion of appropriate documentation. 6) Coordinating with clients, subcontractors; and performing project administration including writing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, and completing progress reports to ensure quality. 7) Displaying a basic understanding of business development activities, including proposal development, contract administration, and client presentations; and knowledge of basic skills sufficient to complete assigned tasks for a proposal effort.
Senior Hydraulic Modeler
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Internationally recognized chartership Experience working in the GCC. 5 to 10 years of experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for combined and separate sanitary sewer systems, analysis and design of wastewater and stormwater collection systems Experience working in the GCC Experience in developing, calibrating and verifying dynamic collection system models and application of the model to analyze the existing system and design system improvements. Knowledge of wastewater collection system modeling packages. Experience with dynamic collection system modeling software packages, rainfall software, sewer flow analysis software and Microsoft Office productivity software. Experience with Info Works and ICM models is highly desirable.
